Spring is coming? Maybe?

Spring is coming? Maybe?

I walked to the park yesterday.

When I was a kid, playgrounds consisted of mud and sticks and maybe a swing or two. But I happened upon a space playground.

It was sort of overwhelming. I didn’t know what to do with half of the stuff there. I was pretty glad there weren’t any kids there to laugh at me as I puzzled over the equipment.

Thankfully there was a swing. One swing. I ask you, is there anything more glorious than swinging on a sunny day? There is not. There is nothing more glorious.

And now, to document the steady decline of American society,

I present 21st century playground graffiti:

I censored the very rude drawing to protect the delicate sensibilities of my gentle readers. Let me just say that under no circumstances would a child of the late 80′s/early 90′s have drawn such a thing on the playground. I don’t think.

And this one just makes me feel like moving to Canada/New Zealand/anywhere ASAP. If these children are our future, I’m not sure I want to be around to witness it.

  4. That playground does look complicated--thank goodness they still have swings though! When we get rid of swings I lose all faith in the world... Clearly someone wasn't watching their child closely when the brat scribbled all over the place... The Clothes Horse’s last blog post..Art Is That Thrilling Spark
