I woke up this morning when Kurt sat next to me on the bed.
“I read your post,” he said. “Where’s the mouse?”
“She’s hiding.”
“Where is the mouse?”
“She’s in a safe place until you and I can discuss how having a mouse as a fifth pet is a totally awesome idea.”
Kurt is not convinced that having a pet mouse is a totally awesome idea, but thankfully he’s humoring me, and Martha “Mimi” the Mouse is now living in a pink cage with pink bedding and a pink plastic igloo on my writing desk in the basement. And lordy, is she cute!

Honesty time: the mouse in the last post isn’t Mimi. It’s a mouse from a Google image search, because I needed a picture of a live, non-cartoon mouse to illustrate my point that mice are adorable, and it’s hard to take a picture of a mouse inside a Tupperware container. Now that I have a more permanent living situation set up for her, it’s still hard to take pictures of her. She won’t sit still long enough.

Isn’t she adorable? I have this ridiculous urge to knit tiny little sweaters for her, or try to teach her how to ride a bike or something. Or sing, like in Cinderella. Although if she could just learn how to sew clothes for me like Gus-Gus and Jaq, I’d be happy. I’ll keep you posted.

Bubonic Plague, at your service.
But maybe she is cute, just a little. How do you know she is a she?

Aww, it is cute. I think I would be a little afraid had I discovered a mouse in my house, but I think once you have it placed somewhere and it cannot escape, they're cute to look at. Are you going to get it a cage? Ariella’s last blog post..Pretty clothes on ebay.

Andrea. You and I are going to have a parting of opinions. I appreciate you love little Mimi (Named after Mariah Careys' Emancipation of Mimi album? Yes. Thought so) and the pink cotton wool is a nice touch. But yick! I have bad mice memories from too many years of flatting. ondressingup’s last blog post..a love letter
Her cage is clear, so I can lift her up and see a clear lack of mouse balls. Definitely a girl. And she's too scared of me to bite. Although if I grabbed her, she might. Out of respect for each other, we're keeping our distance. Maybe someday she won't be so scared of me. I hope.
