I treated myself to a matinee viewing of Confessions of a Shopholic today, and I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I laughed out loud more than once, Isla Fisher is adorable, Hugh Dancy is tousled and charming and English, and above all it was COLORFUL.

I’ve been craving a shot of color in the worst way. Here’s my artistic interpretation of what Alaska looks like in February:

Ok, so I live in a house, not an igloo, but you get my point. The movie was fun and fluffy and a glorious way to distract myself for a few hours. Now, if I may be permitted to rant and rave a little about something that is neither fun, nor glorious…
Do you know what a medium soda and popcorn costs these days? $11.75!!! For my international readers, that’s €9.32, £8.24, $18.39 AU! That’s not only insane, it’s HIGHWAY ROBBERY. I am resisting the urge to add many more exclamation points! For $11.75 I could have a nice dinner at any number of restaurants here in Anchorage. But at the movie theatre, all $11.75 will buy you is a lukewarm, watered-down Coke and a bucket of rubbery popcorn that smells like rancid grease and stale cologne (don’t ask me, ask Regal Cinemas).
For what they’re charging you’d think they could sell popcorn that doesn’t taste like icky caca.
That looks like a fun movie. I know! I can't believe how much it costs in the end to see a movie these days. Ridiculous. Obviously, refreshments is where they make all their money. Amelia’s last blog post..How I Spent My Presidents' Day Vacation...

That looks like a cute movie. The colourful outfits definitely caught my eye! Gosh, cinemas really over-charge their snacks. I usually bring snacks in my bag so I don't have to buy any. I'm such a cheapskate, haha... Anna’s last blog post..oui
Las falda rosa es fantastica, ademas es un tono muy chulo, no el tipico rosa fucsia. Saludos Privalia

I really, really like the images from the film it is packed with wonderful bright colours, and for this reason alone I need to go and see it! On the other hand I really want to go and catch a gig as well, um...decisions, decisions *help ha ha =) Peace and Sequins... PrettyneOnsX Prettyneons’s last blog post..B For Bright

I can't wait for 'confessions of a shopaholic' to come out here... it looks great. Oh, and popcorn and soda would be about the same price in Norwegian cinemas. That's why I never buy sweets at the cinema... I just sneak some in with me instead! Ariella’s last blog post..Laziness.
Ok, that's ridiculously expensive! In here (Portugal) it would cost around 5 € and I usually refuse to pay that much. Plus sometimes they're so bad that they make me sick. And I'm used to the popcorns I make myself. They're healthier without that amount of sugar and taste even better. But of course that I can't take them to the cinema. Oh I wish I could. * Maria’s last blog post..Monday, 16th February
The price of snacks is sooo ridiculous! It costs them about a penny to produce the popcorn! That film does look colorful. The Clothes Horse’s last blog post..A Year of Evenings
In Portugal you spend maybe 6€ in popcorn and soda... and a movie ticket is 5€
